November Awards, 2 more Golds!

I am delighted to announce I have 2 Gold Awards In the November SWPP Competition.The images were for Traditional wedding which was photographed in Sorrento in Italy earlier this year and also an image taken at Kitley House Hotel In Devon a few weeks ago in the Bridal Portrait category. These awards are entered by many photographers from all over the world so I feel very happy to have achieved this level of work. All the  Gold winning images  will be judged in the final competition in January in London. Here are my winning images.

Pet Photography

This was an evening of fun. Photographed a puppy who was very sweet and very lively.After she had calmed down I managed to capture some lovely images.

Family Portraits

A great idea for a birthday or christmas present is a family portrait and this was a superb idea by a young lady for her Mums’ 50th Birthday. She and her siblings planned the day to get some interesting photos as a suprise.I thought the idea of them holding a photo of themselves would be fun and also jumping in the air here are the results.

While attending the Kitley Bridal Day I met some ladies who were showing customers round in 18th Century period costumes.They asked if I could do a few shots here are 2 of the ladies.

Julie & Martin’s Wedding Kitley House Hotel Devon.

Julie and Martin were a great couple to photograph and we had a lovely time at their wedding at Kitley House Hotel. Julie looked stunning and we captured some great photographs of her around the venue. Both bride and groom were fantastic fun and the laughs continued all day.Martin had some great  best men who were very helpful in helping organise the day. The two page boys also did a superb job and seemed to have a good time.Here a re a few images from their day.Also wished to thank my assistant for the day Martin Mason who was on a training course with me .

Gold Award in September’s SWPP image Competition.

 I am happy to have received a Gold Award in the SWPP Competition in the Fine Art category. The images will be judged in the finals in London in January.The image was taken in Venice and ironically taken in front of the old school of Art . I loved the warm colours of the buildings and all the ironwork on the gate.Fianlly with a great pose from the model who was a ballet dancer the whole thing came together.

Winner of the Bruce Smith Fashion Master Class.

Recently I went on a Fashion Photography Course in London with a Photographer who I really admire. It is always good to learn from others who have different skills to your own and as he shoots for many high end brands mainly in lingerie and swimwear. Bruce also has an amazing understanding of lighting techniques and also communicating with models.As I’m always looking to improve my skills and take them  to a higher level I thought it would be a good investment. There was a pre course assignment which was to create a  mood board to show a fashion story. I was delighted to win the best board which entitles me to a Masterclass with Bruce for 5 days. I really am delighted and feel it will certainly inspire me and also up the level of my work.Here are a few images I took on the day including Bruce shooting. Also there is a video clip from the day. Makeover Shoot

What a great time we had in the studio with Anne -Marie creating different looks for her makeover shoot. With the assistance of makeup artists and hairdressers we created 3 separate styles ranging from soft and delicate through to a more Vintage 4o’s look and finally a 50’s Glamour look. The day was presented to Anne -Marie as a present from her husband as she had always wanted to do a shoot like this. I think you will agree she looks great!

I had the pleasure of photographing Baby Theo in the studio.Children of this age have amazing energy and he spent much of his time being chased by his Mum and Gran! He was a real little character and there are some lovely images of him.

Hayley & John’s Wedding Plymstock Church and Kitley House Hotel

Had a lovely wedding with Hayley and John at St Mary’s Church in Plymstock.The service was one of real interest as it was partly Anglican and Partly Greek Orthodox stemming from both Hayley and Johns family traditions. photographs were taken of John and his ushers and best men ( he was greedy and had 2 !!!) at the church prior to the bride arriving and then after the ceremony we made our way to Kitley House. We tried to use different parts of Kitley to add interest to the images and Hayley and John embraced the moment to create some lovely shots.
