Linda & dan’s wedding was photographed at The Two Bridges Hotel, Dartmoor and despite the inclement weather we created some stunning images both outside on the bridge and on the moors. There are some lovely cozy corners at Two Bridges which we used for some nice intimate images . I’m sure you’ll agree they both look fantastic.

Deborah and Martin chose a beautiful sunny day for their wedding at Polhawn Fort in Cornwall. surrounded by friends and family they had a lovely wedding and Deborah looked delightful in her vintage wedding dress which had a 1940s glamorous feel to it. Their children played a great part of the wedding as  Bridesmaids and Best man. Deborah & Martin wished to visit the beach for some images and the light was spectacular with bright sunshine in one direction and dark moody clouds in the other direction which made for some wonderful images…..

This year has certainly got off to a flying start ! On leaving London just having been granted my Associateship in Wedding Photography I was delighted to find I had also been Awarded South West Photographer of the Year for the Master Photographers Association for the second year running. The winning images were in the catagories of Classical Wedding, Reportage Wedding and also won the title of Commercial Photographer of the year. I was delighted too have my Classical Wedding image win best over- all image. The wining photograph was taken at the stunning wedding venue at Bovey Castle and the commercial image was one of a series of images taken for Vaughan’s Hair Salon in Plymouth to promote their styling. The Evening Herald also kindly ran a feature about my work the link can be found below. I am now looking forward to the new wedding season and shooting some fabulous couples and also persuing some exciting shoots I have planned.

I am delighted to be the only  Plymouth based photographer  to be recognised as  an Associate of the Society of  Wedding and Portrait Photographers in Wedding Photography.I had already qualified with  my  Licentiate which looks for competence and skill but with Associate images there is the added requirement that the judges need  to see ‘far more creative interpretation, better choice of location, more thought and faultless technique.’

Here are the 20 images from my qualifying panel which all were taken on real commissioned weddings.

I have been extremely busy this year and subsequently have had little or no time for blogging. With 37 weddings under my belt for this year and still 3 to go I thought it was high time I posted them though some are going back to springtime!!! Anyway with the nights now well and truly dark and cold it’s nice to look back on the brighter days and also re visit some of the lovely weddings I have shot and the great couples I have been lucky enough to have worked with.

Jenny & Adam were married in the spring and had a fantastic day at Langdon Court Hotel. Jenny and Adam’s families were great fun and had a wonderful day.

Jemma & Kevin had chosen a beautiful day for their wedding and in fact was almost too hot! Jemma looked lovely and we enjoyed photographing her and her family including their little boy.We went from the church to a very special place for Jemma her Grandfather’s house which was beautiful. They were a great couple to shoot and despite the heat helped create some great images.

Had a lovely time photographing the wedding of Faye and Jack in the centre of Plymouth at the Duke of Cornwall Hotel. Faye and Jack were very keen to have lots of time to capture the images for their wedding so much so that they decided to start shooting before the wedding together!! Though quite untraditional it gave them a whole two hours before the wedding so they could spend time with their guests. We still did the groups and a few more evening shots of them but it was a fantastic time and the emotional ceremony wasn’t affected by their time together before hand. Also a warm thankyou to their families who were extremely friendly.
